Enter your current password, then your new password twice (minimum 8 characters). Click Change password to update. The new password takes effect immediately on all future logins.

Data

Shows the path to the active database file and its current size on disk.

Open folder - opens the data directory in your file manager (Windows Explorer / Finder / Files).

Changing the Data Directory

Click Change… to enter a different data directory path. The path must be writable; Kitted will create the directory if it does not exist.

Click Apply to save the new path. A restart is required for the change to take effect - all data (database, backups, attachments) remains in the original location and must be moved manually if you want to relocate it.

Backup

Kitted can automatically back up its database on a schedule.

SettingDescription
Destination folderDirectory where backup files are written. Leave blank to use the backups/ subfolder inside the data directory.
ScheduleDaily (every day), Weekly (Sundays only), or Disabled.

StatusMeaning
TrialRunning within the free trial period. Days remaining are shown.
Trial expiringTrial ends within 7 days.
ActiveLicence key activated on this machine.
Check-in overdueLicence was activated but the periodic check-in with the licence server has not completed recently. The app continues to work while in this state.
ExpiredLicence has expired.
RevokedLicence key has been revoked.

To activate, enter your licence key (format: XXXXX-XXXXX-XXXXX-XXXXX) and click Activate. The key is tied to this machine.

To move your licence to a new machine, click Deactivate this machine first, then activate on the new machine. Your Machine ID is shown at the bottom of the card for support purposes.

Demo Data

Load the built-in “Brightwick Co.” sample dataset - a fictional candle manufacturer complete with stock items, bill of materials, suppliers, and production history. Useful for exploring the app before entering your own data.

Click Load demo data to populate the database. Click Clear demo data to remove it. Demo data can only be loaded once per database (the button is disabled once loaded).

Security

Require password on this machine - by default, anyone who opens the app on this machine is signed in automatically without a password prompt. Enable this toggle if the machine is shared between multiple people or you want to enforce a password every time the app is opened.

The toggle saves immediately - no separate save button is required.

Notifications (Electron only)

Low stock alerts - when enabled, Kitted shows a system notification whenever a stock movement causes an item to fall below its minimum stock level. At most one notification per item is shown per hour to prevent alert fatigue.

The toggle saves immediately.

About & Updates (Electron only)

Shows the current application version. Use Check for updates to query for a newer release. If an update is available it downloads automatically in the background; when ready, click Restart to update to apply it.
